Our members’ voices matter and our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a great opportunity for them to be heard. This year, our AGM took place on Tuesday 9th July 2024.
Here at Shepherds Friendly, our members come first. We take pride in doing the right thing, so we try to make a positive difference through the products and service we provide. We know that a great way to make sure this happens is to listen to our members. That’s why every member is given the chance to have a say in how we’re run by voting in our AGM.
What is the AGM?
An Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an event that takes place once a year where members of an organisation come together.
At our AGM this year, there was an introduction from our Board Chair, followed by a summary of the last year, and a presentation, before our resolutions and votes were discussed. There was also time dedicated to answering our members’ questions.
When was our AGM?
Our 2024 AGM took place on Tuesday 9th July at 4.00pm at our Head Office in Cheadle, which is in Greater Manchester.
We’re so pleased that our members were able to join our AGM both online and in person this year. It was a pleasure to meet them and a great opportunity to hear their voices.

Our members’ votes made a difference
Every year, our members can vote on our resolutions. We’re thrilled that this year we received even more member votes on our resolutions than the year before.
We always want our AGM to make a wider impact, so we donate £1 to a local charity for every vote received. This year, we’ve raised a total of £1,141 for our chosen charity Seashell Trust.

Is the AGM the only way I can give feedback as a member?
The AGM is not the only way you can keep in contact or share your thoughts. We encourage members to get in touch all year round in a variety of ways: through our Member Services team, regular feedback surveys throughout your time with us, or via our social media and review platforms.
We value all feedback and take it seriously. Our members really matter, so we aim to use feedback to improve our service and products.
