About Investors in People
Most of us will spend around 80,000 hours at work in our lifetimes. For something that takes up that much of our time, Investors in People think people deserve to get more out of it than just a regular pay cheque.
Their accreditations are recognised across the world and they’ve already helped more than 11 million people across 75 countries to make work better.
Platinum accredited
Platinum is the highest level of accreditation possible to achieve on the ‘We invest in people’ accreditation. And is something only 2% of organisations achieve.
It means policies and practices around supporting people are embedded in every corner of Shepherds Friendly. And in a platinum company, everyone, across all levels of the business, knows they have a part to play in the company doing well, and is always looking for ways to improve.
It’s people that make work better
We share Investors in People’s belief that the success of an organisation begins and ends with people and we have always believed that the key to providing excellent service is happy and engaged staff.
That’s why employee happiness is so highly prized by the Society. Even whilst working from home since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, we’ve thought of fun and innovative ways to keep staff engaged. From virtual pub quizzes and Friday socials, to afternoon tea with the Board (with everyone receiving scones, tea and jam in the post), keeping our close-knit team connected has been a priority.

We plan to continue to build on our accreditation to ensure the Society continues to be a place where people feel supported, recognised and proud to be a part of.”
