We’re proud to share that Shepherds Friendly has achieved the highest level of accreditation from Investors in the Environment. Receiving the green level is a big step in our sustainability journey.
Investors in the Environment is a national scheme that recognises and supports organisations that want to lower their impact on the environment.
Our journey began in February 2022 with a Bronze accreditation. With the hard work of our Green Team, we were awarded the Silver level in March 2023.
Building on this success, over the past year we have introduced new eco-friendly initiatives:
- Recycling crisp packets to help the homeless through Macclesfield Crisp Blankets
- Using TerraCycles’ no-waste boxes
- Participating in Plastic Free July
- Hosting a step challenge to reduce car emissions
- Supporting litter picks in the local community
- Ordering Fruitful Office fruit baskets, with trees planted on our behalf
Achieving the Investors in the Environment Green accreditation shows our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and caring for the planet.
But our journey doesn’t stop there. Over the next year, we will continue our sustainability efforts, to keep this accreditation.
