Earlier in February, Shepherds Friendly held the ‘Shepherds Twenty’ competition. In that competition, we asked parents to download a worksheet featuring 20 questions from our website and ask their children those questions in an attempt for them to understand their child’s thinking better and bond with them.
After getting their children to fill it out, the contestants were asked to post a copy of the responses either on our Facebook or Twitter page with the hashtag #ShepherdsTwenty, for them to be entered into a competition to win a £100 Love2Shop voucher.
Max Jarrold, head of marketing at Shepherds Friendly, said:
“We are delighted with all the entries we received from parents and were highly amused with some of the responses the children came up with. Many of our members are parents with young children and we’re always looking for new ways that we can engage with them, to help them make the most of their membership.”
The responses we got were wonderful and very entertaining. When asked the question – “If you had one wish, what would it be?”, we got some hilarious responses with one child wanting “it to snow forever” and another wanting “to turn the world into candy” and some heart-warming responses such as “for me and my family to live forever.” When asked what’s the hardest thing they’ve ever had to do? We got some amusing responses with one child proclaiming to “sit in silence” as being the hardest thing and another stating the hardest for him was “waiting all year until Christmas”, quite relatable! We also found out what some parents get up to. When the children were asked what their parent does for a job, one answered: “spend pennies and get pennies!”
Therefore, choosing a winner was quite tricky decision for us, with all the terrific and funny responses. We finally came to a decision and the winner of the competition was Ailsa Sheldon. On contacting Ailsa, she said she thought the competition was “such a lovely idea.”
Congratulations Ailsa, we hope you enjoy your voucher and buy some goodies for yourself and your little ones.
Thank you to everyone who took time out to enter the competition, we loved reading what your children had to say!
As of 17th January 2024, Shepherds Friendly are no longer offering a Love2shop voucher for the Stocks and Shares ISA and Junior ISA.
